The Fall of Lazarus is a first-person exploration sci-fi mystery game being Kickstarted and developed by No Wand Studios. You are a crew member of the USSC Lazarus that has awoken from Cyro sleep with no memory of where you are, who you are, or what you were doing there. An AI program named Hybris reminds you of your name and asks you to take a little test to make sure that a chip that has been implanted in your head is working as well to make sure that you are still sane. From here, the exploration begins as you walk throughout an abandoned cargo spaceship, trying to piece together what is going on and how you can get out of it back to your family.
Most of the gameplay revolves around how well you are able to find all of the pieces of the puzzle you are trying to solve and how well you can put them together. It can range to trying to find a password to having to memorize specific patterns or pass codes to get access to the next area. The atmosphere of the game is perfect. You feel very isolated as it is just you and the AI program on the ship. It makes you jump whenever you hear a noise that you are positive didn’t come from you and give you a chill when you discover that Hybris is not there to help you, but to attain her own goals. After just a few minutes of playing and after progressing through the story a little bit, the game really gets to your head and makes you think if you really still do have all of your senses or if you have actually lost your mind.
