Shrine II is a retro FPS made by Scumhead using the Doom engine, and is inspired by old shooter games. The game is free and available for download on Steam or Itch.
Just like the prequel, Shrine, you are arrested and stripped of your items and weapons, and you must make your escape, only to find out that the world you knew is getting overrun by eldritch hordes of monsters. Go around blasting your enemies and collecting various weapons as you discover and explore new areas. Each of the weapons you collect feels very different and unique, and you will find yourself going back to your previous weapons depending on what the situation calls for. Fight bosses, each with their own, and sometimes several, fighting styles and patterns. The game definitely feels like an upgrade from the prequel, with more challenging gameplay and a fun arsenal of weapons.
