Ruin Valley is an animated retro action platforming metroidvania, which you can download its alpha demo over at its Itch page. It’s being developed by Pavel Shibaev.
Ruin Valley is a vintage-styled metroidvania game with tight controls and sentimental graphics. The demo that lasts roughly 20 minutes contains numerous stages and tasks in which you must shoot specific items and know how to jump well to advance to the next level.
The game is designed in an interesting way that it plays around lights and shadows, to the extent that it would affect your gameplay behaviour. Same behaviour changes occur when you go from land to underwater, the music changes. Generally speaking, the game’s art style and animations are just pleasing to the eye.
