In Recursor, you’re in charge of a ‘recursor’ robot to randomly navigate through a maze of trials and challenges. The variety of upgrades improve your robotic constructions in the game. With both mobility and action, Recursor’s mechanics are inspired by the platform fighter genre.
The art style of the game takes the vintage pixel art appeal and updates it with new 3d animation. This retrospect the game’s features within various motions that allows you to move freely. This, paired with the rogue-lite genre’s randomly assigned levels and advancements, increases the game’s complexity. It also has a debug mode that allows you to move frame by frame, inspect your current situation, and check hitboxes, etc.
