My Time at Sandrock is a sandbox RPG set in the same world as the game My Time at Portia. The Kickstarter launched recently and currently has around $35,000 out of it’s total of $100,000. If you pledge $30 or more, then you will get a steam key and passcode for beta access.
Although this game is set in the My Time at Portia world, it is by no means the same. The developers wanted to originally make this a DLC to My Time At Portia but figured that it wouldn’t be enough to allow players to truly experience Sandrock. Therefore, everything was done from scratch to ensure the graphics would be better, add more to the story and enhance the gameplay.
In the game you are recruited to be a builder and help a town from total destruction. The oasis dried up and the area is just a huge desert. Everyone is leaving and shops are closing and it’s up to you to save the day. While it might seem hopeless, there are several relics for you to find and many characters to meet. All these characters are detailed people, with their own personalities and backstories. You can befriend and even romance most of them. There is a completely new AI system in this game, compared to My Time at Portia, and it makes the characters feel much more alive.
Inspired by games like Dark Cloud 2, Harvest Moon and the works of Miyazaki, this game is like an upgrade to My Time at Portia so if you enjoyed it, you will definitely enjoy this game.
