Hyper Racer is a 3D racing game, developed by Gregory Neale and his team, made for the Ludum Dare 47 game jam themed “stuck in a loop”. Download the prototype on its Itch page.
Drive through a tube inside space where you race to finish the lap as fast as possible. When you complete a lap, your ghost will appear to race you. First it will be slow but as the number of laps increase, so will its speed. So how do you beat it when the speed reaches yours and more? Your speed does increase as well, every lap you complete. This means you can overtake and win with sheer overpowering speed. How many laps will you complete, I wonder?
There is a small hack in the game (The developers did not have enough time to fix it) where you can drive backwards to the start/finish line and keep going back and forth a billion times to increase your lap count. Honestly though, where’s the fun in that?
Keep in mind the game was made in 72 hours and still looks fantastic. The music is a bit weird at first but after a few laps it becomes more pleasant.
